Error (-634) connecting to replica

On a server running NetWare 5.1 (SP 6),we're receiving multiple errors like this one:

Sync - Partition .<TREENAME>. failed, no referrals (-634)

And we're unable to get this server online. It seems to not be able to communicate with its replica.

We're also panicking a bit.

Any help/suggestions????

This indeed describes the issue, and several of the symptoms we were experiencing.

It turns out it was a problem with the network interface configuration, keeping the servers from seeing each other, thus not allowing them to sync.
