Hi,

I have a win2k server with IIS5 running my intranet. Users use basic authentication to logon to the website.

My problem is this: Yesterday I installed Frontpage 2002 Extensions and today nobody can log in. They all get a HTTP 401.3 error "Access denied by ACL on resource".

I can't understand what has happened here. I have uninstalled the Frontpage extensions but I still have the problem.

Help!! I'm going mad!! I swear if this is down to a Microsoft bug I am not going to be happy!!!!!!!!

Thanks for your help

Chris

OK, I've solved the problem!!!!
I just had to go into the Security properties page for my live intranet folder, click on the Advanced button on the security properties page, reset the file permissions to what they should be and click the button that says "Reset permissions on all child objects".

I think the Frontpage Server Extensions messed with my file permissions - which really pisses me off!!!!!!
