For some reason I was unable to post to in the GL anything that had to do with 2010. I realized that I probably needed to create a New Year within Periodic Processing and stupidly did so without any backups. It said it was deleting a bunch of transactions, 9000 or so. Does anyone know what it is deleting? In the end I reived an error message 4, does anyone know what this is? I need any help I can get please.

It's deleting fiscal set history based on settings in GL options.

Error 4? Way unusual, in fact, never heard of it.

Which version of GL and service packs?
Which database?

It's the corporate series, GL version 4.2. I thought it said Error code 4 but I clicked it off before making sure. Is there anyway to find out what error I received? Anyway to run an error report?

This is what I got, now what?

General Ledger:

937 Problem(s) found in Accounts, Fiscal Sets, Posted Transactions, Account Allocation Instructions, Control Account Subledgers, Account Valid Currencies.

4 Error(s) found in General Ledger

4 Error(s) in Total (February 23, 2010 16:15:48)

Yeah, that's what I thought. We did a backup at noon, I did a bunch of work from noon on, so that means all that work will have to be redone right?

Right, it will be blown away of you restore.
What kind of work? You can export batches before restoring and import them after restoring.
It could have been worse, your last backup could have been from the previous night.

Thanks ettienne, I exported everything so I didn't really end up loosing any of the work. Your help is appreciated.
