Hi There,
I had made a Exports Application in VB6,Sql Server7 & Crystal Reports 7 which was working fine but, I had to Format the Data Server for Virus reason & Configure Sql Server.

Configuration is perfectly done & Software is working fine but while accessing the reports on client machine i.e. on Setting action property to 1, it is giving an Error while opening Report file from VB.

Error:20599 Cannot Open Sql Server

I tried Connect,LogOnInfo,SubReportToChange properties but nothing worked, getting the same error :(...
Pls help..

RohanP,

Don't know if this would be of any help, but did you make sure the client machine had a Datasource Set up (ODBC) for the Database? For instance on Windows XP under the Administrative Services and Data Services.

Also when you set up the Report in VB did you check to be sure the Set Location to on the DataBase is pointing to the correct Location?

Me and a Co-Worker here share work on some reports and when she sends an updated copy of a report to me over our network, if I want to work on it on my Personal Server using SQL Server I have to Set Location from what she had it set to, or it tells me it can't connect to the Server.

These may not be your problem, but the first one the Data Source gave me that Can't Open Sql Server error before, After I had to reinstall windows.

Later.

Ferlin.
