Hello

I have Win XP and if I go to:

Start | Help and Support | Use Tools to View Your Coputer Information | Advanced System Information | View detailed system information (Msinfo32.exe), I receive an Error 126 message.

Could anyone explain how I might get round this error, please?

Many thanks.

Steve

SteveHigh,

Is there any more information in the event log? So far it sounds like Msinfo32.exe or one of it's dependencies may be corrupt.

Error 126 seems to be a general type of error that indicates missing components or corrupt registry.

Try the MsInfo32 fix above, if that doesn't help, run the System File Checker program from the Run Box by typing.....Sfc /Scannow in it and have your XP CD handy.

If they don't work you could try repairing windows by running it over itself. You will lose all your windows updates but your files will be untouched.
