ERR 5098 and trunk card issues 1

good morning!

I have been experiencing some issues with our trunk card in the Option 11c arbitrarily disabling itself. Not sure if this has anything to do with it but I do see frequent ERR 5098 codes popping up any suggestions?
 
I would change the card

I have already changed the card. Brand new right out the box...
 
Could be the fiber receiver card or the fiber daughter board. Remote chance it is the cabinet.
 
wouldnt that cause issues with the other cards as well though?
 
Yes it should, it will also give you BUG errors if you have Digital Phones in that cabinet

any clue on what these error codes could be? maybe some examples?
 
Not necessarily, we just had one where we were getting XMI messages in certain card slots in a fiber expansion cabinet. It ended up being the fiber daughter board on the SSC Card. Those fiber cards have dedicated resources for each card slot so don't make the assumption you would have trouble elsewhere. A sysload may fix it too. That would be the first thing to try.
 
Is there a way to do a self test on these cards to check them out to see if they are experiencing problems?
 
Concluding on this issue it was the Fiber Daughter board that was bad. During Spring Break I finally had a chance to work on the system. I started by replacing the SSC card in the Main Cabinet. This did not resolve the issue because I was still getting the ERR5098 codes. I then moved to replace the daughter card in the expansion cabinet and it has been purring like a kitten ever since! appreciate the help on this! Thanks :)
