The Erlang B formula can, given a certain traffic intensity and a number of lines, predict the chance a telephone user will not be able to seize a line.
Let 's say this chance is 1 %.

Does this mean that of every 100 users trying to seize an outside line in 1 hour, one (of these users) will not be able to do so because of congestion?

Further, you can use this calculator if you know your volumes....

It is however not unlimited so check out this for more details and ability to predict huge volumes of traffic in the studies...

Good afternoon. I think it considers both incoming and out going calls. I wish I had time to research it but has much information about it all.
