I am attempting to install 4 x Basic rate services onto an old BP250 with a CPU-D3 and R8 software. The cabinet has an PUB-5 backplane. I have installed a BTU-B2 isdn board, connected the lines, the lines sync to the board but unable to make a call or receive indial calls.
Are there compatibility issues with the PUB-5,BTU-B2,CPU-D3 and Rev 8?

I can´t answer your question but at the moment every month many BPs are changed with newer systems,
so I would buy a used CPU-D4 or D5 and a newer cabinet or backplane and you have a cheap and
really nice PBX.

Hi

Are you adjusted cmd. 1925 - 1929 (digits removal)? Number will depends of your provider and your dialplan - how many digits receiving from provider (eg.10) and your dialplan (eg. ext. no - 3 digits) - in this case enter 7 (digits to be removed). Also, enter ISDN trunk no. (default 7xx) to the route (0 or 9 - country depended) - cmd. 3201.

Thanks,

The provider is sending 8 digits, I have 2 digit extension numbers, removed 6 digits in cmd 1925 - 1929.
I have setup a temp route (84)using the trunk number (750 to 757) I get dial tone but unable to make call.

The NTU's have sync, could this be a compatability issue or am I missing something, which is extremly possible???

PUB-5,BTU-B2,CPU-D3 and Rev 8

To get more info, please run traces on that card (Maintenance section). Start trace on BTU-B card, try to make call, stop traces and download -> save to file and post result here...

Before that, try to change cmd. 2224 to National or Unknown...

Hi
I will try to help you a bit!
I dont think there is a compability issue but that needs to be checked out! (Compability list)
How about synchronization parameters are they set, 2061,2062,2063,2064 sins you have 4 ISDN?
Check if your system is synchronized Maintenance/Supervisions/Link supervisor.- Link state code 20 is good!
TEI value 1919, is it provided automatically by the provider or do you need to set a value (provider info)? Also seen in Link State (above)
There are also dip switches on the board to make them ready for S0 interface are the strapped in the right way (NOT S0)? (all dips off if I remember correctly, but check manual)The board could have been used for ISDN extensions?

Are you really getting dial tone when you dial 750 to 757?
The ISDN trunks can of course also been blocked for calls by the provider?
You have also been given som good advise above!

This is a start...

Best of luck

Stevie

Thanks for your assistance, the isdn is now working.
Upgraded to Rev18. R8 wouldn't allow programming a BTU-D.
