I have erased the Flash Configuration on one of my expansion Module IP400 16Phone , and when i connect it with a control unit , the control unit dont detect it , i dont know what to do , to detect it and i send the bin File to the expansion Module ?

You need a third party tftp server installed and the default path must point to the appropriate binary files.
Make sure you have a config with this module listed.
In Manager set the IP Adress of the PC running the tftp server.
Have the unit connected to IPO with the blue cable.
Connect a serial cable to the faulty expansion module.
Open Hyperterminal 38400 kbs and type AT-X.

Wait for the module light to burn green.

ok i will try that but just one qustion ? is it normal the control unit dont see the expansion module connected on it ?

ok , it is true because i have erased the firmware on the expansion module unit ;-)

the led on the expansion Module still lighting Red ?

i have installed TFTP server Software , and connected the expansion Module 16Phone to Control Unit and when i reboot the control unit it send only HoldMusic Request it doesnt send requesting for Binary file of the expansion Module Can any one tell me more details ?

From my experience, and I believe in the documentation for reloading firmware to a box, the instructions specifically state that the erase portion is only for the base/control modules not the expansion modules. If you performed an erase on an expansion module, you might have made it a paper weight.

You need to do more then only reboot the IP Office.

You need:
1 PC with a fixed IP Address
2 IP Office control unit
3 Expansion module without firmware loaded
4 Configuration with a similar module installed
5 Binary files
6 third party tftp server software
7 serial cable

You must
1 Start the PC
2 start the tftp server
3 start Manager
4 load the config offline
5 connect the expansion mudule to the port on IP Office as you find in the config
6 connect the serial cable from the expansion unit to the PC
7 Start hyperterminal
8 Power up the expansion module and the IP Office control unit
9 send the config to IP Office and reboot
10 check if hypertrminal show some action
11 reboot the expansion module and keep pressing esc until the bootloader appears
12 type AT-X, the unit must response
13 If all is correct setup the IP Office control unit will download the firmware and send it to the expansion module

manager has a build in tftp server but it does not recognise the tftp request from the unit as valid. therefore only a third party tftp server will work

If you do not succeed then send the unit to Avaya.

I HAVE DO IT ALL THAT BUT NO CHANCE ;-)

FOR INFO I WORK WITH 3.2.17 VERSION .

THE PROBLEM IS THE CONTROL UNIT DONT SEND REQUEST FOR BINARY FILE TO TFTP SERVER .

Usually the problem is that either a firewall or anti-virus blocks the tftp requests from the IPO.
You should see requests in your tftp log.

yes may be it is a Firewall but , the HoldMusic file is requested on the tftp Log ?
