Erasing Lines

I want to erase the corners on a box and cannot figure out how to do it. I am making a vector drawing for a laser printer. I drew a box and want to remove all four corners so that it looks something like a fat cross. I also have to do other similar projects. The crosses lines have to stay hairline. I am new to this software and would appreciate any help.

well, if you *erase* (i.e., delete) the corners, you would not have a "cross" you'd have 4 lines that do not touch each other. Are you sure that's what you want?

Sorry I explained it wrong. Somethong like this

but in other projects I will have to take chunks out in other spots too.

what version of Draw are you using?

easiest way to create a fat cross is draw a rectangle, duplicate it (CRTL + D) or (+) then rotate it 45 degrees. select both rectangles press 'c' then 'e' (this aligns horiz and vert) then WELD them together (pretty sure this will work from v8 onwards. that should give you a good start.

I think 500ml means to rotate the second rectangle 90 degrees, but he's bang-on with that suggestion. Don't bother converting one rectangle - just weld two together.
