erase tape before backup

Hi there,

i want to erase a tape before i will do a backup on it... is it possible to do that in one job unattended ?
we start on monday with a differential backup and on friday we do a full backup. so i want to delete on monday the diff-tape once to start a clean diff-backup.

Hmmm - i think the best way to schedule your backups would be to create a media pool and to set your overwrite & append periods to expire on the monday, then the monday's backups should just overwite the tape.

I dont think that there is a way to schedule an erase unless you wrote a batch file & ran the command from a prompt. - But i could be wrong.
