Hi,
The quick erase plus option destroys the label and tape ID.
This leaves the data written on the tape inplace until its overwritten when next used.
Full erase will write 'random' data across the whole tape
essentially wiping the tape.
A full erase will take quite some time depending on the capacity of the tape in use. Once the command to erase the tape has been issued by arcserve, the tape device does the rest. Best way to stop the procedure is to hit the eject button on the tape device.
