We recently upgraded to Office XP, and now can't export to Excel. Epicor provides a patch to fix this with Office 2000, but not XP. Any ideas?

Hi,

We have been using Platinum (e by Epicor) for almost three (3) years now and I dont remember epicor releasing Platinum for Windows XP. We are currently using Platinum 7.2 with Windows 2000 and Sequel Server SQL 2000.

I am sorry to say but I think you have to go back to either Windows 98 or 2000.

At present we are using Platinum 7.0b w/ SQL 7. But by first quarter of next year we will be migrating to 7.2 w/ SQL2000. I have finished testing 7.2 w/ SQL2000 and also our migration and is hopeful that by next year we will be able to migrate to the new system.

Hi,

We currently are running Epicor 7.2 with Sql2000 SP1

I have found that the 7.2 client runs like a dog on our client machines and these are HP PIII 750MHZ machines with 128MB ram!!!.
The client is a BIG install.
I found that you have Forms that will not open up and so-on.

So I ended up installing Terminal Services on a spare server and now it runs very well.

This has some major advantages over client installs, including trying to patch each machine, and having easy access to clients when a problem arises.

I cant say ive tried to install on an xp machine. I use Win2000.

But I cant get the crystal reports to run under XP.
We use CRV8 which is what ships with 7.2

So to get around this I installed a webserver verion of CR8 and this seems to have done the trick

to bbrendan,
When you say the client install runs like a dog, are you referring to the back office or front office ?
