Hi All,
As the title says Im having trouble diagnosing a lack of connectivity with an Epson Tm88v wireless. This printer was working flawlessly as a remote printer for a 3700 system and all of a sudden became disconnected. I cant even seem to get it to produce the network info by holding the reset button on the back while the printer is powered off then while still holding, powering it back on. it wont factory reset.
It will produce the printer settings when i power it on while holding the feed button but nothing that seems to have a relation to the interface card. I dont have any spare cards to swap or test it out with at the moment. i do have an spare 88v chassis and i put the wifi card in there and the same lace of a network report occurred.

Any help is appreciated.

Its a R04 Wireless interface kit if that helps anyone.

Epson has a utility that you can use to find these printers on the network. Windows and IPad app. In App Store look for Epson TM Utility. It should find it with an IP of 192.168.168.x I think.

The Ethernet cards have a default address of 192.168.192.168.

I would check to make sure the Dip Switch 2 - Switch 8 is set to on. Once you have confirmed that, the TM-88V will actually print the network settings when you do the self test (Hold feed while powering on).

I have the utility, and the printer was working fine for a few months. No other network settings have changed.

I confirmed Dip 2 Switch 8 is in the On position but holding feed while i power it on only produces a slip with info like firmware version and print density and current dip settings etc but there is nothing that is related to the network settings. All of my other Tm 88's only give me a report with that kinda info on them when i press the reset button on the back of the network card for a few seconds which this printer does not react to at all.

if you cannot see the printer in the utility and it isn't printing network info on the test slip, I suspect the card is bad. I believe you can reset the card by powering up while holding the button on the back of the printer where the network cable is. If that doesn't work, swap the network card out with a working printer's card and see if the problem follows the card or the printer.

The Reboot does nothing. I have bought a new network card and will report back when I swap it out.

**UPDATE**

Turns out since net-config wouldn't recognize the printer with both the old and new E04 card somehow both are toast...

There was no event that i know of that could have caused this but never the less taking the new card and sticking it in a separate 88v chassis yielded good results.

Thanks for the responses.
