I've been having printing issues with the Epson prirnter for a long time.

It's an epson stylus color 3000 using it's built in network card.

We're running OSX 10.3.8 printing to it using the epson stylus osx driver. Some times the printer works ok, sometimes it start printing and the printer pauses. You have to restart the printer for it to continue printing.

Printing to it from a PC works without a hitch, and never jams up.

We've tried OSX 10.2 with gimp print and cups drivers and power rip, and osx 10.3 with the Epson Stylus OSX driver 1.7ae and all have similar problems communicating to the printer.

Anyone else having issues, or know of something to try?

Finally, someone else experiencing the same problem I'm having. I'm no longer alone - you're no longer alone.

OS X 10.3.8 printing to an Epson 3000. It seems like it used to work, but as of late (I don't use it that much) when I go to print it works fine until it loads paper. It then print about a 1/4 of the page, then pauses indefinitely, with the out of paper light flashing, regardless of the paper state.

If I hold the pause button down to reset it, it will print the full page, starting where it currently is on the paper, eject the page, load another page, and then stop.

At this point, the printer is useless - I'm going to try reinstalling the driver and see if that helps. I'll let you know if I discover anything.

Have you gone to Epson's site to see if they have an updated driver?

You might also try going to Hard Drive/User/Library/Preferences and trashing the Epson prefs. Often, when you reinstall a driver, or application, prexisting prefs are not replaced. It's always a good idea to get rid of related prefs before reloading things. Some HP printer software comes with an uninstaller to avoid the problem. Don't know about Epson

Depending on how the mac was set up, the prefs cold also be located in Hard Drive/Library/Preferences.

When you load the software, make sure the printer is turned on and connected to the mac.
