So, I'm pretty new to Quark and have read the pertinent parts of Blatner's "Real World QuarkXPress 5" along with comments in this forum, and yet, I am still searching for answers. Using Quark 5 on WinXP.
My dilemma is two sided:
First, on-screen image quality in Quark is poor. This also translates to the print if done directly from Quark. An example of what I'm seeing is captured in this image:
Those bars are a solid color when viewed as the original EPS in Illustrator. Furthermore, they print just as they look on screen.
Second, when I try to circumvent the issue by exporting from Quark as an EPS and then opening in Photoshop 7, the pixelation problem is fixed, but I have similar fading problems as others in this forum. The original image was created in Illustrator as CMYK and imported into Photoshop (Rasterised) in CMYK mode, as well.
Any help would be sincerely appreciated,
