eportfolio user preferences not retained after closing browser

I apologise in advance if this topic has been discussed and resolved before but here goes anyway. I am using crystal enterprise v8 with a default deployment of eportfolio. It seems that when a user logs on and changes their user prefs / settings i.e default viewer, colour scheme etc, that these setiings are only retained for the duration of the browser session. You can log-off eportfolio and log straight back on again with the preferences in tact but once you close the browser (testing on i.e6) and go back in again the prefs are lost.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi,

I dont think so. Whenever user changes the settings in ePortfolio, CE creates cookies which are local to user's PC. So the changes made should be retained. Try again. I may be wrong, but this is my understanding.

Yes that's my understanding too. Unfortunately it just doesn't work. I have checked my browser's cookies after a session and yes a cookie is created but when you look at the cookie content there is no obvious reference to user preferences. The cookie contains two references: ePortfolio_lastaute & Portfolio_lastusr. Should it contain more?
