Hi,

Thanks for the time to read this.

Why oh Why can't i see OR run a stored procedure from CR9.0 when i am using ADO ????

When i use ODBC the SP is there and it all work a treat. However i need the Report to use an ADO connection as i am serving the report up on the web, and my web admininstrator (like all the others out there is strict) so he won't allow me to set up an ODBC connection.

Am i missing something here, is there a tick box missing, should i just bully him into giving me the ODBC connection ?

Over to you, and thanks

James

I don't see the difference of an ODBC connection and ADO security, can you share the reasoning?

You might try the Add Command with an exec 'stored proc name' <params and build the params if any.

This passes SQL.

Not sure why your SP's aren't showing up

In our SQL database, we have a unique user setup for accessing the database from Crystal Reports.

When I write a new stored procedure, I have to give access rights to this user.

Did you check to make sure that the user running the report also has rights to access the stored procedure(s)?

Thanks to you both for your comments.

I eventually found it out. Sometimes a good reboot and reconnection to everything helps wonders, i wonder when we are going to develop real-time refreshing of Datasources and connections.

It was embarssingly easy when i granted permissions on the SP to everyone and then got the correct syntax right to query to SP from crystal.

Thanks again for your help

James
