ePO v3.0 (VirusScan v7 - v - ViruScan TC v6.1.0)

Ok, tell me if I'm being thick or missing the point but:

Does VirusScan v7 Enterprise replace VirusScan v6.1.0 TC or is there going to be a TC v7.0 at some point to bring it in line? It just appears to me that ePO v3.0 is set to deploy VirusScan v7 as default.

Any thoughts on the subject would be good as I am about to embark on a site upgrade currently on ePO v2.5.1 with the servers on NetShield v4.5.0 and VirusScan TC 6.1.0 on the workstations.

VSE 7.0 has similar functionalities as VSTC 6.1 with the exception of the missing GUI. However, I've heard that VSTC 7.0 is in the works and should be available soon.

As for you migrating, I suggest you upgrade to ePO 3.0 and move NetShield 4.5 to VSE 7.0. You may would want to keep VSTC 6.1 in case you like the idea of no GUI for the end-users.

Regarding VSTC1, is it less taxing on the user's machines? Other than no-gui, is there less of a performance hit versus VSE7 client?

Regarding EPO3, can the install path for VSE7 or VSTC be changed from within EPO, like EPO2.5x/VS45 was able to?

How easy is it to to an in-place upgrade from EPO 2.52 to EPO 3?

Regarding EPO3 yes you can change the path for VSE7 or VSTC within the EPO please read further information in the E-policy Orchestrator 3.0 Guide. it is descriped how you set it up )

Regardin Upgrade from EPO 2.52 to EPO 3.0
my expirence is that is very easy to upgrade the server.
