Hi,
Does anyone know it it is default for the virus scan console to overwrite settings on the Epo Orchestrator or vice versa. I configured with Epo orchestrator and did not inherit permissions but the virus scan console settings seem to overwrite this - The av on access scanning remains disabled on the servers?????
Thanks,
Paul

not really sure what you're trying to get at here, but I think you mean, if you make policy changes via the ePO console, will these overwrite the setting that the end user could have set on their desktop pc.

If so, then yes, ePO will always overwrite (unless you tell it not to).

Sorry for being so obscure, a little confused by the whole thing. It seems that the epo doesn't overwrite the user settings and I was checking if that should be the case. thanks for the mail, time to keep searching.

Be sure that you have configured the settings in ePO for the platform you use: eg if you configure ePO the settings will apply to Workstations, Change the view to "Server" then you can configure the settings for server. this is in the same policy.

settings set for workstations will not apply to server platforms

Thanks Bramb, finally noticed how blind I am and found the correct radio buttons etc.

hahaha, it's an easy mistake to make, until you've made it 10 times. you start to check first after that :)
