We are trying to distribute the EPO agent (Framepkg.exe) on a number of PC via SMS but for some reason the /silent parameter doesnt work. However this parameter does work if I copy framepkg.exe to a PC and run it from either a command prompt or Start/run. Any ideas anyone???

Try /q

I cannot get this switch to be successful either.
/q comes back with an invalid parameter.
/Silent doesn't do anything.
framepkg.exe looks like a wrapper but I cannot get it to run w/o user intervention. (OK at end of install)

The documentation states you can use /SILENT (probably case-sensitive). The correct syntax would be:

FRAMEPKG.EXE /INSTALL=AGENT /SILENT

Why not just let EPO deploy the agent with the deployment or manually deploy it with the send agent install command?

If it doesn't deploy, make sure the remote registry service is turned on in Windows 2000 Pro and Windows XP Pro.

Good luck with W95 and W98.

I am having the same problem.

we have about 4000 clients to install it on. The push from the console won't work due to the fact that all the clients have different passwords and we're not running a NT domain, so, its in the login script and works fine without the /s /S /SILENT....with the /S option nothing works.....

If we cant find a solution, we will have to send a email to the users telling them what to expect, the only problem now is if they login again, they will have to click OK every time. Which will irritate people since the installer doesnt check,

If you have the old version of ePo installed (2.5.1) on you NT stations, you can proceed to an upgrade from old version, and then the password is no more necessary.
This options is in ePo 3.0 Policy

In our logon script these are the switches we use and it works perfectly.

/s /install=agent

Try that.

I have found that if you use the /silent switch, you also need to use the /INSTALL=Agent switch as shown below:

\\server\share\framepkg.exe /INSTALL=AGENT /Silent

Geez, I posted that one over 5 posts ago!!!
