Hi All,

I am currently in the process of evaluating ePolicy Orchestrator 2.5 for my company. I have read in the instruction manuals that 1 server can handle 150,000 clients, but because my company has multiple sites crossing multiple WAN connections, we want to add mutltiple servers at each site.

The questions I have is can I have 1 ePO server at my head office controlling our other ePO servers at the various sites or would it be isolated servers for each site?

Any feedback as to how to best do it would be great! Thanks in advance.

Edward

Contact your McAfee rep. They have a "walk-through" guide on how to setup multiple ePO servers.

ah, wouldn't that be nice if there were an answer to your question that you liked?

But, truth to tell, ePo is just not at that stage yet. Computer Associates and Symantec are.

Each ePo server is stand-alone, and cannot report to a "parent" ePo server.
Hopefully in the future, NAI will build this in, cause it is a good product.

Cheers

Thanks for the replies! Regarding this ability to do multiple servers at different sites, I remember browsing one of the .ini files (The ini file for the ePO Agent?) and I remember seeing an entry on it regarding Master server and another server entry. I kinda lead me to believe that it would be possible....

As for the walk-through guide, as suggested by AVChap, I received the latest walk-through guide from Mcafee and it mentions that it is possible but no mention as to how to configure it or the actual instructions on how to enable it.

Do you have a copy of the walk-through guide that does cover this install?

We're reviewing a rollout of ePolicy and the agents to 3000 machines. The walk-through-guide is great. But real life hands-on better. If anyone has checklists, documents, or other "plans" that would reduce our reinvention of the wheel..be glad to share war stories.
