Hi Guys,

I have a HP DL380G5 server (which is on the Mitel Qualified Hardware list) running Win Server 2003 SP2. I have installed the latest ver of ENTS but the Enterprise Manager Service will not start at all. I am aware of some anti virus problems from the Install Guide that could cause this but the server is a fresh install without antivirus or windows firewall installed.
Is there anything else that could be stopping the service from starting? The other two ENTS services start ok. Even trying to stop and restart the services once the server is fully booted does not help. The event log just tells me that the service has hung.
I have reinstalled the software and have rebooted countless times.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Cheers, Stephen.

I found a previous post talking about a possible Java issue. I have installed Java 6.0 which is the minimum requirement according to the installation doc and it hasn't helped.

Hoping someone out there has had this before and can point me in the right direction.

Are you installing the software via remote desktop?

If so, then then vnc or directly on the server . Uninstall and reinstall the software first...

Good luck...

Cheers Wolfman,

We are not installing it via RDP or VNC, we have it in our office as we are pre-staging it before it ships to site.

The EMS/NMS Service is the database piece of the install. When you licensed the server, did you have an error after you had communicated with the AMC stating something like "the service will not start". Seem to remember that when you license the server and the licences download successfully, you need to wait for a minute before clicking next, or the license file does not install successfully.
What is suggest is to clear the hardware id and uninstall Ent man and Opsmanager. Reinstall the software, and when you license the server and it states that the files have been downloaded successfully, wait a couple of minutes before clicking NEXT.

Let us know how you get on mate....

Cheers wolfman,
I will give that a go. The times I have downloaded the licences so far have all been successful with no errors. But I have not waited the few extra minutes like you suggest. At this point I'll try anything. Will keep you posted.
