All,

I decided to try and kill two birds with one stone tonight so I have another question. I have a form with one combo box, called Initials that is tied to a Initials lookup table that also has a phone number and name field of all the inspectors in the system. This form will be used to collect the initials chosen by the user from the combo box and store it into some variable. Ok, so how do I store the initials into a variable for later use so that when the inspector starts to enter data into the permit and inspection form, it will fill that field with the current user initials on the fly.

Thanks in Advance,

I believe if you add an Initials field to your permit and inspection form(use the lookup wizard and on your form you will have a combo box), you can change the AUTOEXPAND property to yes. So If one inspectors initials are AAB and the next guys BBA, typing A or B will return the correct initials. Also for your combo box, change the LIST(? doh)property from 8 to however many inspectors there are so when they click in the INITIALS box, it will drop down the complete list for viewing.
