I've registered 10 or 11 SQL server in Enterprise Manager 8.0 locally on my laptop while in my office.

When I log in via VPN, I no longer see these registered servers. Is it because the server registration is based on my local profile as I see them in HKEY_CURRENT_USERS hive in the registry? and I logon locally on my PC at home and then connect and authenticate through the VPN client.

Thanks in advance.

Yes the EM Configuration is based upon your local profile. You need to register them on your PC as well.

Thanks for the confirmation MDXer....I figured it had to be specific to the profile but wasn't sure.

You'll be happy to know that in SQL 2005 you'll be able to export the server list and import it into another profile or machine.

(I learned this yesterday at a MS Event.)
