Hi, Huchen

How many times have you installed Oracle on your workstation?

two times.

I could not open Database control URL from first install after reboot my machine, I thought I missed something during installation, so I deleted all files I could from db_1 folder(there is no way to uninstall). Then I installed again(which is db_2 folder). Then I still can not open the URL. That is why I am here asking for help.

the first one is this:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ORACLE\KEY_OraDb10g_home1]
"ORACLE_HOME"="C:\\oracle\\product\\10.2.0\\db_1"
"ORACLE_HOME_NAME"="OraDb10g_home1"
"ORACLE_GROUP_NAME"="Oracle - OraDb10g_home1"
"NLS_LANG"="AMERICAN_AMERICA.WE8MSWIN1252"
"ORACLE_BUNDLE_NAME"="Personal"
"OLEDB"="C:\\oracle\\product\\10.2.0\\db_1\\oledb\\mesg"
"StmtCacheSize"="0"
"StatementCacheSize"="0"
"ORACLE_SID"="shulocal"
"OO4O"="C:\\oracle\\product\\10.2.0\\db_1\\oo4o\\mesg"

Hi, Huchen

What I would recommend (having done it a number of times)

1. Use the Universal Installer to unistall Oracle
2. Delete the oracle directories (one is on c:\ the other on c:\program files)
3. Remove the Oracle entry in the software folder in the registry
4. Re-install Oracle.

If you are still having this issue. then please let us know and we shall go from there

Thank you William. I will do it later.

Hello everybody
i have had the same problem, i have installed personal Oracle then for some reasons i decided to re-install it.
i have remove all the traces of the first installation from the disk and the registry then i re-installed the personal oracle and i encountered the same problem.
but it was solved by adding two variables to the "environment variables" of my Computer.
1-variable ORACLE_SID, value 'your SID'
2- variable ORACLE_HOME, value 'your oracle home path'

then i reboot my computer and the em page worked.

huchen,

ckeck the portlist.ini file in the install folder. If you've installed more than once, it might give the true current URL.

Thanks to everybody for your help.
I tried all your suggestions and none of them worked for my case.

Then I read Oracle Database Installation Guide:
"2.4.1 Installing Oracle Database on DHCP Computers"

and installed Loopback Adapter

Now it works without any problem.

Thank you again.
