Has anyone implemented Crystal Enterprise Kit for PeopleSoft?

My company purchased the Kit in order to create PeopleSoft reports, and submit them from Crystal Enterprise. However, I am having some challenges while trying to set up a report in Enterprise, and schedule it.

I would appreciate any tips,

Thank you,

David

What kind of challenges? Are they unique to the Peoplesoft kit, or generic to CE? A little more detail might get you more help. Can we assume you are using CE version 10?

We are using Crystal Report 8.5, Enterprise 9, PeopleTools 8.42

Here is of the problems,

When I create a report and connect to PeopleSoft, select a query for the report, add fields and try to run it. It returns with the following messages,

"Failed to execute PeopleSoft Query object"

"Error detected by database DLL"

My guess would be that parameters are not being passed correctly to PeopleSoft.

We are having the same problems with CE-10, PSSK, PeopleSoft 8.20 running on an Oracle DB.

Sorry to say this, but I'm actually glad that someone else is having this problem since BO tech support can't seem to replicate this issue....

After much investigation, we ran some PeopleSoft traces on the PS-Queries when they were executed from the PeopleTools Window vs. running them through the PSSK.

The PSSK is corrupting the SQL that it passes to the DB. It appears to be related to "complex" PS Queries that include Multiple Arrays and Between statements.

I would suggest creating a really SIMPLE PS Query and testing it as an RPT data-source with the PSSK.

If your simple query works then you may want to run some traces on your other queries and compare the results when you run the query from the PeopleTools or the PeopleSoft Solution Kit for CE.

Let me know how it goes...

SImilar problems occur with some ODBC drivers and complex joins (not in a PeopleSoft environment). The problem is not with Crystal, either CR or CE. Sounds like a similar situation with your PSSK. But if it uses ODBC, you may need to swap out the driver however it lets you do that.

The PSSK is the the "driver", it replaces the PeopleSoft PeopleTools ODBC connection that worked FINE in CR/CE 8.5 - but is no longer supported in the CR/CE 9.0 & 10.0 products.

BO created their own tool for accessing PeopleSoft data, and it doesn't seem to always work...
