I just installed crystal enterprise express v10 onto windows 2000 with a MSSQL backend dbms. I use enterprise authentication. Logged in as administrator, I can't update any settings when I try to schedule a report. If I change the time, format of the report and hit update it takes me back to the folder list but upon going back to the report none of the changes take effect!

Whats worse is that when I try to schedule it to go out by email and hit update i get the error

There was an error retrieving data from the server: Plugin 263 does not exist.

And to top it all off if i even click on the user administrative tool i get the error

An error has occurred: Item SI_PROGID was not found in the collection.

I have repaired, reinstalled twice and I am at my wits end
any help is greatly appretiated since tech support costs 195 bucks from BO

As a matter of fact I did. Business Objects are not very helpful about getting you around to the correct version. That's the problem. I was using Crystal Enterprise that cost about 500 bucks. Well that version doesn't do SMTP emailing. The version that does SMTP Mailing costs 2000 dollars and its the Crystal Enterprise Developer Edition or higher, I think the 500 version is Enterprise Express.

So if you can spring for the 2000 dollar version thats the only way to get Enterprise to do custom delivery via smtp, ftp, or disk output. I got the 2000 dollar version though and I'm happy with it.

Pretty crappy I thought that i mentioned SMTP Delivery to Biz Objects and they still steered me into the Express version. And it even further upset me that there are no error msgs or anything to let you know that you can't schedule an smtp delivery. It just looks like it works and doesn't (at least they could grey out options you cant use)
