I know the Feature code for a pause is F78, could anyone guide me into the sequence for entering a pause into a speed dial.

Customer dials speed dial number which is answered at the other end by AA, then after the pause, will output the extn number.

Any help?

Regards

Feature external speed dial
select button to be programmed
[external code],[1],[10 digits],[feature]78,[extension digits]
press the button again to end programming

NOTE: this probably won't work since the pause lasts 1.5 seconds and it will probably take longer for the call the initial call to connect. In that case you should probably program 3 pauses into the speed dial.
Like this:

[external code],[1],[10 digits],[feature]78, [feature]78, [feature]78, [extension digits]

Thanks for the prompt response, but I ned to be able to do this in the System Speed Dials as opposed to personal speed dials.
This is on a BCM50, and it will not let you enter '*' or ','.

Thanks

Thanks Acewarlock,

In the System Speed Dials, I enter the number 001etc followed by F78 followed by the extn number, it then throws back a message saying invalid character. It list the available characters that can be entered and 'F' is not one of them.

This programing is being carried out through Element Manager, therefore you do not have the option to press FEATURE

I just reread your Question
Quote "In the System Speed Dials, I enter the number 001etc followed by F78 followed by the extn number.

You said ext number! Speed dials are for external dialing only.

option11newby also said, "Customer dials speed dial number which is answered at the other end by AA, then after the pause, will output the extn number."

Sounds like he's trying to input the pause feature into the system speed dial list.

Marshall is correct - that's the only way I've been able to get the pause to work in the past.

Thanks for all your responses, I thought that might have been the solution.

Cheers
