Enter the number to charge

Hi everyone,

Good pm to all, anyone tell me on how to solve this issue? everytime i have tried to call internal extension and the extension was engaged, this message appears on the display " Enter the number to charge " we are using 3902 digital phones. thank you in advance.

Solution
M3902 tele giving wrong message on display when connected to a busy extn... getting 'enter number to charge' instead of 'activate ring again'
Also the forward button when pressed shows 'Release and try again' but the forward does work.

Site Rls 4.5 opt 11.
firmware on system 8.4 ... firmware on the M3902 sets was 8.4.... New batch of teles from Nortel
Force Downloading the switch version of 8.4 firmware onto the sets to replace the Nortel factory installed 8.4 cleared up the problem.

Hi Firebird,

Tnx for the reply. These are the Firmware summary installed on the M39xx. Would you pls give me an idea or what to do next? It seems like that we have 8.4 version firmware onto the set.

What I tend to do is to set up time periods usually after the system has done it's nightly dump for a few hours each night to allow any firmware downloads to be completed. Here is my Procomm Plus script that you can refer with below.

If you follow the prompts above, then hopefully your M39xx sets will all have the same firmware. If any of them haven't changed, then check that the phone type is correct for the type of set configured as I've know many sites where people have swapped over phones, but not altered the programming.

and when ive tried again to call a busy extention (3902), the same thing appears on the display " enter the number to change ". ive noticed only 1 extension have the correct message on the display. and it is pdn (extn 105). Pls see and check the script. thank you...
