'Enter' no longer exiting fields for some forms

Hi everyone,

I'm confused with a problem I'm having with one of my forms. When I started the form today, the 'Enter' key will sometimes not exit the current field. It only happens on three of the twenty fields on the form. The 'tab' key will still exit the current field for all fields. On friday, I didn't have this problem. No changes have been made to the form.

Does anyone know how I can correct this problem?

Look at your textbox properties. On the Other tab, look at the Enter Key Behaviour. There are two settings: Default (goes to next field) or New Line in Field.

thanks for the suggestion, but I already checked. The enter key behaviour is set to default.

I tried switching it to new line and that does create a new line. But when it's set to default, the text box will not exit.

First, compact and repair your db.

Then, back it up.

Next, in the design view of the form you are having problems with, go to tools/options/keyboard. Under the move after enter tab, make sure next field is clicked (if that is what you want the enter key to do). Click OK. Save your database again.

hey judge,

I tried all you suggusted, I'm still having the same problem for the same three fields.

I have backed up versions without this problem, and it wouldn't take too long to bring the backup to where I am now. So this isn't the biggest deal in the world. But it is a little annoying.

Any other ideas?

hi, i don't know if anyone has any ideas on this problem, but here is the current situation.

I have a form which is an interview. The user reads the question and selects the reply. When they have selected there reply and hit enter, they move to the next question. (via the on exit event - Each question is on a seperate control tab).

I also have two buttons on each control tab, one moves the focus to the previous question, the other moves the focus to the next question.

For one of my questions, after I select a response, enter will not move the focus to the next question. I can still move the focus by clicking on my next button.

However, if i use my next button to move to the next question, and then click on the previous button to move the focus to the orginal question, enter will exit the field.

Does anyone know why this is happening? It's not the defaults for enter to go to the next field.

nevermind, i copied the form and copied all the vb code over and deleted the original. everything works ok.

athough does anyone know what might of happened?
