Hi,

I have a form with a subform in it. When I press a button on the main form, I want to be able to open a form (based on the same table of the subform) and add a record. I'm able to open the form but I can create a new record. I get a message telling I cannot go to the specified record. The problem is really because I have the sudform open in the main form, it's causing me to not be able to add a new record.

Anybody have a workaround this?

Check the subform form's Record Locks property. If it's set to All Records, its underlying table is locked whenever the subform is open, and you can't add records. Change it to No Locks or Edited Record.

If that's not it, check the second form's Allow Additions property. It must be set to Yes. Rick Sprague
