Dear
Can I manually reseat/replace a ENET card on a CS1000M NORTEL switch by only putting down the toggle switch to disable in front of the card.
I have issues on logging in on the systems and I wonder if the ENET cards can be reseat doing this procedure.

thank you for your feedback

From memory, as long as the card has become disabled after the red LED lights up via the terminal or any switch on that card will mean its OK to pull out.

The only snag might be getting the card into a enabled state after the switch has be moved back as sometimes it needs to be done via the terminal.

Do you have full access onto the phone system?

You can reset/replace the card, but you will need access to the system to enable it.

Thanks firebird. No access on the terminal at the moment. The enet card toggle switch in front has a LED light. I know that if it is put down that LED will lit. does this mean
the cards is disabled? is it ok to reseat the card and put on the toggle switch to enable after reseating. does the switch be able to recognize this procedure and enable the card and its functions correctly?

If the LED is already showing Red, then the card is in a disabled state.
Set the switch to disabled, before repeating the card.
Then switch it back to enabled (and hope for the best!).

That's all that I can suggest.

With regards to the Terminal, is it that the terminal isn't working or is it not displaying characters correctly?.

Assuming that your system is the traditional cube model, then I think the TTY cables went from J15 at the back?.

Thanks Firebird. The Enet card is still enable. The LED is still not lit to red. My plan is to put the toggle switch to dis so the LED will be red and reseat the card without
doing the disable procedures in the TTY terminal. I assume this will be okay?

thanks
