Not unusual, generally... They support the current release (12.0) and the previous minor release (11.1). Within any minor release it has always been that only the latest SP was supported (you remember the support guys telling you to upgrade to the latest SP first).

Nevertheless... Since CentOS 7 goes End of Support end of June, there will be no further updates (even security updates) for the CoreOS available. So each R11.x Server will become an insecure server, even if the IPO Release is under support by Avaya.

I remember when Nortel use to support almost all of their legacy systems. What a commitment to the industry, the vendor and customer.

I miss those days.
 
Didn't Nortel go bust because they spent to much money on stuff like that?

And that was at a time when a phone was $350 so compare that to the phone pricing today 25 years later which is basically half the price for phones with less that half the margin on it meaning they have to cut cost wherever they can. I understand that they don't want to look for issues on all releases and their support guys are saying the same thing. It can take a lot of hours finding an issue and spending 50 hours on an old release and then another 50 to fix it with a patch just to fix something the latest releases actually do not have is not economical.
