Encounters per client 2

I am a total novice, I have a report and it has a grouping. I have two fields summarized in the group footer Distinct count of clientID and distinct count of EncounterID. I want to add another field that gives encounters per client for each group. I put the following formula field in the group footer: distinct count of encounterid / distinct count of clientid. The problem is that it just gives the encounters per client for the full report in each groups footer and not the encounters per client for each grouping. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try inserting another group for clientID. Then insert a distinct count for encounterID in the footer of this second group. It should give you the correct count per client

Your formula for the group 1 footer should be:

distinctcount({table.encounterID},{table.yourgroupfield})/
distinctcount({table.clientID},{table.yourgroupfield})

Substitute the correct field names.
