Encode backup data

Hi,

Does anyone know if it is possible to encode the data backup with Legato

Not out of the box. If you want to do this, you must write your own ASM (Application
Specific Module).

In the Legato Networker Administration Guide Release 6.1 there are a ASMs called 'pw1' and 'pw2', but it seems to work only with Microsoft Windows and Netware clients

Is there anything for Sun/Solaris systems?

In fact, there is the possibility to use the NW ASM xlateasm . However,
it is very rudimentary (a kind of XOR encoding) and not very safe. I am
quite sure that it is rarely used due to its funtionality.
