I get a message whenever I try to use Net Agent to chat with AT&T tech reps regaring tech issues with Internet Explorer 7.0
I am asked to activate Java Technology in my web browser to enable on-line communication with tech reps.
I downloaded JRE update from Java.com, restarted the computer and still get the same message viz. "Activate Java Technology in your web browser".
Any solutions out there?

In IE's Tools/ Internet Options/ Advanced/ Settings/ Java (Sun), is the box ticked?

Can you add any Tech IP Address to the Trusted Site list in IE?

Are the settings in your firewall, or hidden firewalling components in any other security programs, that could be causing a problem?

As a test, can you communicate if you are just in Safe Mode with Networking?

Try "Managing add-ons" in one of the Internet Options tabs and seeing if Java is disabled there.
