CCM 5.1 I am trying to set up dialing from outlook, using the following steps:
. Log on to the Call Manager and select “Application”, then Install Plugins.
2. Select “Cisco Telephony Service Provider”, and select “Run”. (You can also save the file, and then run the file from your saved location).
3. You will be presented with a Wizard, and you may get a security warning. If so, just click “Run”.
4. Click Next, and proceed to accept most defaults, select the appropriate language, and no to multiple instances. Restart your computer after the install.
5. After reboot, go into your control panel, and select the “Phone and Modem Options”.
6. Here you may edit your default locations to accommodate your dialing needs. For example, if you need to dial a 9 before dialing the number, then you can set this up. After completing this, go into the “Advanced” tab.
7. Under “Advanced”, you should see multiple providers listed, and one of them should be “Ciscotsp001.tsp” Double click this. Go to the “User” tab, and put in your user info.
8. Go to the “CTI Manager” tab, and put the appropriate IP address for the call manager under the IP Address field., and the backup options should be none. (You could put the other CCM IP address there if running a PUB/SUB environment.)
9. Log back on to the Call manager, and go into the User/Global Directory, and search for your user name.
10. After either locating, or creating a user name, make sure that “Enable CTI Application Use” is selected, then click on “Device Association” on the left hand side of the screen.
11. If there are no devices listed, then you will need to associate your phone or communicator with your ID. Under “Available Device List Filters”, do a search for either your directory number, description, or device name. Once that device appears down below, click in the box next to the appropriate device, and click “Update Selected”. Call Manager configuration should now be complete.
12. Open Outlook, and go into your contacts. Right click a contact and select “Call contact”.
13. Select “dialing options” at the bottom, and at the bottom, where it says “Connect using line”, and click on the arrow on the right side. You should see the phone you previously associated with your ID. (You may have several listed depending on how many lines you associated with your ID). If you do not see any of those lines, select H323. Select close, the repeat this process again selecting your lines once available.
14. Setup should now be complete. You can right click a contact, and call contact and “select call”.
On step 10 when I go to User Management>End User in CCM and find my user by name, I cant find a "Enable CTI Application Use" . I do see an option for "Allow Control of Device from CTI" and its checked.
When I go to outlook and go to dialing options I dont have a choice to pick my phone only the H323 phone and IPCONF.
Thanks
