Hi,

I am using xtalk software on my notebook. However, I realise that software does not support notebook internal modem. It only allow to interface with COM1. Hence I need to buy a external modem.

Even if it does allow to change com number, but it still does not work with internal notebook modem. No response.

Does anyone have the brand of software that can work with notebook modem? That allow dialin to PABX and MMail.

Can can I download from? I tried hyperterminal but it does not work.

Pls advise. Thanks.

It depends on the kind of modem you have. I've tried it with a USR 56k and 33.6 external and a 33.6 PC CARD USR modem on a laptop. I couldn't get it to work with a brand new Thinkpad with an onboard modem. It would handshake but it sounded like it couldn't find the right baud rate or something. Yes, it does work with HyperTerminal if you are using the right modem. You have to set it to VT100 8,n,1. I use Procomm because it looks better and I can organize my phone numbers better. In Procomm I use the same settings as HyperTerm. The soft keys are F1 through F5 but you have to map the F5 key to use: ^[[21~

Hope this helps

I've learned everything I know about PBXs right here on this messageboard.

Thanks Jesse.

You are right. I am using thinkpad T23 and couldn't sync with the internal modem.

Thanks for your advice.
