We are trying to program the OSN set for use with the Emergency Services feature and keep getting a SCH code saying that we can't program OSN for a set that has Virtual Office. We disable the Virtual Office feature for the CS1000 rls 7.5 and still kept getting the same error.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!!!

Cheers!

I even have OSN on an ACD phone so not sure about the virtual office issue ... here is my config if it might help ...

It's just a personal opinion but I think the OSN phone is pretty worthless. Get yourself a small programmable buffer box, like omnitronix and hook it up to a maint serial port on the system. Program it to keyword check its incoming data stream and when the letters OSN show up, capture the next several lines, and spit them out as an email or text message to those people who need to see it. That way you have a record of time, date, who, where, etc. That's how I alert the security staff, when someone dials 911 either on purpose or mis-dial. When the local PSAP calls security to verify a hangup, security already has an answer as to who dialed; even if they aren't in the office when it happened. I think there are other 911 screenpop solutions out there also, my VxTracker call accounting software can do 911 dial alerts almost instantly also...

We are trialing an OSN set and I am using a 3904 digital set as it does not depend on the IP network for functionality. Also you can add an Algo Aux box to operate a strobe light for the flashing OSN key. That will get someones attention. The nice thing about it is the immediate notification of a emergency call with no relying on other services etc. We also are using a CDR program to alert on 911 calls via email as well.

It's a phone system, NOT a clock!

30n30w -

Can you provide details on your OSN notification using the omnitronix box? Which model etc. Sounds like exactly what I need.

Best,
Allen

The box I'm using is a 4 port DL150 - Omnotronix is now Asentia so I don't know what the model is currently under the new company name...
Their engineer worked with me on how to monitor a port's input to detect the various alarms specific to a Nortel PBX and how to set up alerts. OSN was included as part of that programming.
I hope this helps...
