Hi,

I was told it is possible to set up an emergency call list. For example: Say there is a fire, and one needs to let 20 people know but doesn't have time to call 20 people. Is there someway to call into a voice message box or something that will automatically call all these numbers set up on the 'emergency call' list. Like I said I was told this was possible by my supervisor, but reading through the nortel user manuals I can't find any information on it.

Any help is GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks

Never heard of that, but you can do a all page through the sets

Are you talking about external calling, or internal calling?

If you're talking about internal, set-up a group list.

Why don't you just pull the fire alarm.... LOL Sorry couldn't resist.

If you talking about alerting personnel off site you should be able to set up distribution group in voicemail. If you alerting those in the same building. I would set up a Paging group with all the phones in it.

Then pull the fire alarm. ;)

I would have to say in the senario of a fire, don't be concerned with leaving a voicemail message pull the fire alarm and get out.

But if you need to set something up you can set up distribution groups in voicemail to leave a message for several phones.

LOL...nice!

I was just using a fire alarm as an example....

As we speak I hear sirens in the distance....lol

I am talking about leaving a message on external phones. So I suppose a distribution group would be the more accurate term. Is that simply something set up in the Norstar voice mail manager? I just looked through all of the tabs, and couldn't find an option for that? Where would I set it up?

Thanks again!!

I don't know if this will work, but did you try Message Notificaion?

This will allow you to setup up to 5 external phone numbers to call when a message is left in the mailbox.

Granted, this will not call all 20, but if you setup 4 mailboxes that are all in a group list, a message can be sent to the group list, which will then trigger the outdialing.

Note that if someone picks up the phone (if you're using that method), the CallPilot will consider the "notification" to be complete.

hunt groups...needs 4.1 or higher...will ring the group on 1 internal ext call....could even name it....uronfire...hahahahhahahahhahahahahahhaha

If you have the mailboxes available or this is important enough to get licenses for set up a group list for the 20 people with message notification enabled on each mailbox. then feature 980 followed by mailbox NNN will send out to 20 mailboxes and the mailboxes will in turn make their notification calls as programmed.

you could set up for only notification on urgent messages and then when leaving the group message mark it as urgent. this could let you utilize their existing mailboxes.
