emboss is going strange 1

When I put bevel & Emboss in a layer (e.g. layer1), all is going well.
But when i want to change the bevel & emboss in another layer (e.g. layer2) the settings of the bevel & emboss of the other layer (1) also changes...

It seems that whenever i change my bevel & emboss, no mather what layer i'm in, PS changes it for the entire document...

Please advice.
Using PS CS2

nope layers aren't joined....
That's why i find it so strange...

hi mscallisto,

When you want to be able to change the settings you must uncheck the 'use global light' setting in the bevel and emboss layer styles.
