he means can we have a group meeting to discuss the embedded voicemail features in comparisment to the voicemail pro features and where we think Avaya should focus their attention for future messaging systems.
Personally I think Avaya gives good value for money with the voicemail solutions but I would like to know if anyone has other systems which at least compare but maybe surpass Avaya features.
Does for example the Mitel or Nortel systems provide a good voicemessaging solution?
1 feature I would like to see is the fax integration improved. Simply recognising a fax tone and sending it to an analogue extension is Panasonic if you ask me. What I would like is that each user could have a fax number and the faxes emailed to them as PDF.
Im not a fan of the embedded solution if i am honest. I have a fair few sites where we have to dial into them every few weeks to reboot the thing.
I do however think VM Lite was a fantastic entry level vm. Its a shame they didnt do small scale menu's ect on this.
It is also a shame Avaya are putting no more development into it.
Considering how many IP500s our company are selling over other brands such as panasonic/toshiba/nec VM lite with out the PRO lic requirement would have been an absolute deal clencher.

Embedded isn't bad for the price compared to other systems. it's about £300 cheaper than a 2 port Panasonic VM and much better.
I agree with Prov about VM Lite. We have quite a few systems with this runnning. Now we are forced to run Intuity mode it makes the conversion from Lite to Pro a little more painful. People find IPO mode much easier.
It is only since the IP500 way of licensing we have ever sold an embedded. until then if customer wanted AA, they got Pro, if not then they got Lite.
The couple of embedded we have run fine although a pain to set up how the customer wants.

Lite will work for free on all IPO's except the 500. It need the IP500 Pro license to work on the 500 but no other license.
Lite works on IP Office mode not intuity and supplys user/group mailboxes and q messages but no AA functions.
It fits for most people.
Also it runs as an App not a service so it can be shut down a bit too easy. I have heard of people using programs to make it run as a service but never done it myself.

very good. I only really sell the 500 system and if someone was going for the pro version then upgrading to pro voicemail would generally be the correct move.
and as for not running as a service, sounds like hassle to technicians but saves the customer a few quid! Yeah sure.
So all you get is voicemail boxes, no Modules, check variables or anythink like that?
No modules, only mailboxes and it should have announcements but not more
