I have a customer that has an IPO 406 and is looking to use a button to turn their Night Service on and off with Embedded mail. We have attempted to Forward an Incoming Call Route to a Day Hunt Group that will then Forward to a Phantom user that Forwards unconditionally to a short code that will then activate the day menu. This Hunt group also has a Fall back for night service to a night group that has another phantom user pointing to a short code to the night menu. Our thought was that we could use the first group as the day and then Set a button to put that group into night service and have the Forward on Night service set to the Night Group.

The problem is whenever we look at the System status when this is configured, the call goes to the correct Hunt Group, it says it is Queueing and rings forever...

Queueing is turned off on the Hunt Group and the Version is 4.0.5

Any assistance would be helpful

Try to take your phantom users and assign them to a port on one of the digital modules. They dont need a phone but a port. at least this has worked for me in the past.

There are no physical ports available... Any other ideas?? Do you know if 4.0.7 fixes this bug?? I know there was a tech bulleton on a similar issue

Thanks

Had this bug. Fixed in 4.0.7 (our temp work around in 4.0.5 was to use IP extns to do the forwarding)

Instead of setting the night service in the hunt group, set it as fallback in the ICR then put the hunt group into OOS rather than NS.

I have done this and works a treat.

I think i had it in 4.0.7 the other day. i am not sure its fixed yet. what Jamie77 says should work as well.

I tried Both VoIP extensions and putting the Hunts in Falback then out of service instead of Night, but it is still Queueing without the queuing on.... We were able to get it to work only if there is a real extension in the Hunt Group.... But we have no Digitals available.... any other suggestions??

Thanks again from everyone

Don't set the destination in the Hunt Group. Use the Fallback destination in the Incomming Call Route then put the group into Out Of Service

I am not setting the destination in the Hunt Group itself... I put the Destinations in the Incoming call route... The problem is when I use a group in the destination spot (regardless of in service being out of service or night service.. or in service for that matter) it continuly rings and says queuing in System Status... Whether I have a user in the hunt group or not.

Got it to work using a user that is attached to an actual extension that they aren't using very much and have that fowarded unconditionally to a short code connected to the day menu and then a night user that is connected to the night menu.... can't use the analog ports either... just as an FYI for future readers...

Thanks for everyone's help

Should work by setting up a VoIP Extn then you have an Extn you can attach your virtual user to. It will then show up in the list.

Please remember to thank preople for their valuable input.

Trust me ... tested it several times with the VoIP extn... it could be a differnt bug and maybe it works sokmetimes, but unfortunately, it didn't in this case... But thank you anyways. I will still keep it in mind for an option in the future to try...

Is your VoIP extension shown as a User and an Extension?
Also Im sure unless auto created by a phone any addition of a VoIP ext through Manager needs a proper reboot!

Has this been done at all?

Right so its still just a user.

Create a VoIP extension for it too in your Ext Tab. Or create with manager and when asked select yes to "Create VoIP ext"

This is no doubt why it is not functioning.

i have a virtual user forward unconditional to a shortcode (same solution)

be sure that you set the forward huntgroup calls
the virtual user can have call waithing checked ?
also turn of voicemail for the user and huntgroup
do you have announcements checked maybe ?

tlpeter... as I mentioned before, I have already done all of this... you are also saying that you did this with vmpro... I am using embedded, which could easily have a different bug in it.

And yes we rebooted when adding the VoIP extension and tried both ways of adding a VoIP extension and neither works correctly

I'm sure you've tried this........

Your group that contains the Phantom user should be set to linear. I think it calls it sequential, actually.
