Hey guys, I have a customer running 6.0 with Embedded voicemail.
About every 2--4 weeks, the contact us saying that voicemail to email has stopped working.
I am always able to run monitor, see that the SMTP traffic has built up to quite a large queue size (between 50-80 messages).
Upon rebooting the IPO, the matter resolves itself and the voicemails start landing in email boxes as designed.
However, this is just a band-aid; and naturally the customer (a large law-firm) is losing patience with this ongoing problem.
My theory is that as soon as a large message gets delivered to a user mailbox, that message is too large to go over SMTP, thereby causing a backlog.
Could this be the case? And if so, what would you suggest to remedy?

Thanks in advance for any advice, I hope to begin helping contribute to this great community of knowledge :)

Check the settings of the server to which you are sending. Most servers has strict attachment limits by default. Microsoft Exchange servers are 5MB by default if I remember correctly - that's just 5 minutes of voice message.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

May be worth noting also that around 6-7 users each have over 100 new messages in their mailboxes.
That could be causing issues too, yes?

Checking server settings now.

Customer's IT vendor states that the voicemail server file size attachment limit is set to 30-50mb.
It's office365 (again, according to their IT vendor)

Run hMailserver on a PC on site. Let the IPO send the email to hMail, let hMail relay it to Office 365. hMail always accepts the emails, so the IPO doesn't get bogged down, and you have logging in hMail to see why emails are rejected

What release? I had one a few months ago that was an early build of R7 and had the exact same issue(365 integration as well). Upgraded them and hasn't happened since.

They're running 6.0 (1803).
I rebooted last week and it began working.
Just like clockwork, they called yesterday stating it was down again.
Their IT guy got back to me, said the server's attachment size limit is 30-50mb; assuming that is accurate, I don't see the server being the problem.

Upgrading is probably the right solution, however these guys are pretty stingy and I doubt they'd go for it.
I'll give hmail a try per @TouchToneTommy.
I'll be sure to post my results for others.
