Embedded voicemail ful: can old vmail be auto deleted,or capacity be expanded via 2nd SD card slot? 1

Hello,
Is there any way to automatically delete old voicemails after a period of time has expired?

Alternately, is there any way to expand embedded voicemail capacity by adding a 2nd SD card? I think not, but I just want to confirm.

We have various versions IP office 500 v2, mostly 8.x, with embedded voicemail, up to six channels, all keep running out of room.

I searched the forum and google and haven't found an answer to either of these questions. Thanks in advance for your help, Ralph.


p.s. Because we use 9504 phones with visual voicemail, the Delete voicemail option is not visible unless you scroll, and out of site is out of mind, so people don't delete their old voicemail, and we repeatedly run out of storage space.

The SD cards are 2GB. I've seen people swear are 4GB, and maybe some other Avaya IPO SD cards are but when I copy them, their contents are < 2GB when so full they no longer accept voicemail.
 
Old" voicemails are deleted though, only those marked as new or saved are kept :)

 
When should they be getting deleted? That does not appear to be happening. I definitely see that people have old voicemails.

A common scenario is, someone has new voicemail, they listen to it, then hang up. Next time, same thing, until they have a number of old voicemails which they've never deleted.

Are those supposed to already be getting deleted on a periodic basis? If so, how often?
 
They are "supposed" to be deleted after 24 hrs. FYI the only way to expand voicemail capacity is to up the ports, once at 6 ports that's max ports and recording time :)

 
Browse the SD card with Manager, go to Dynamic\LVMAIL folder.
Sort on date and start from file to file. You will see the name of the voicemail reciver + the callers number/internal user on the right side pane.

Avoid deleting name recordings & hunt group prompts.

Or you could clean up with DTE...that keeps the prompts, but wipe out every VM.

I'm guessing you are storing old VM's for usernames that has been changed in the past, they can get stuck that way.

I have had to recreate an SD card that states "storage full" when voice-mail messages got "stuck". System status can provide a listing of negligent users.

Have you solved this issue with 9504? Because I have the same problem with 9508 [sad]

By default the embedded voicemail has 2 channels.
You can go up to 6 channels.
Every 2 channels will give you more space.
But as said already VMPro (preferred edition) only has a limitation on the disk size.

You can't change the appearence or layout of the buttons in visual voice, so if you consider delete not being visible an issue it's an issue you'll need to live with :)
