I'm using the embedded voicemail system on my IP500 and when you set the order to be "first then last" instead of "last then first", the voice prompt tells the user to enter the name "first then last". However, if the user presses *H for help as directed, the voice prompt contradicts iteslf and tells them to enter the name "last then first". This seems to me to be some sort of bug unless I'm missing something. Is there a way to correct it? If not, is there a place to report these sort of bugs or errors to Avaya? Hopefully they can remedy it in their next software release.

Has anyone else experienced this or have any input? I think the problem is that Avaya only has one voice prompt recorded for "help" but they have two seperate ones recorded for the initial instructions (as they should).

why are you pressing * first?

what i tend to do is this

AA --> Press 1 if you know the first name, press 2 if you konw the last name

1 --> dial first name --> xfer (etc)
2 --> you get the drift.....

I'm only pressing *H (Or *4) to hear the help voice prompt (which it is possible some customers calling in may do). That's when I'm hearing the voice prompt descrepency.

So, in your example, the user presses 1 if they know the first name, then the voice prompt tells them to enter the first name and if they want help to press *H. At that point, they press *H and hear a help voice promt which tells them to dial the last name first instead.
