Embedded VMail to Email not working!

Strange to me because i have the addresses in it correctly and created an account that relays the SMTP and have tested it by setting up an alarm option and get the alarms to my email account. release is a 4.2.17 and the cabinet is a 500.

by the by the users mailbox settings are to forward but i have also tried alert, and i even attempted it another way by sending them to my email thinking that there accounts may block the messages. no such luck

What have you got under System>SMTP??

Are the emails being sent to accounts within the same domain as the exchange server and IPO??

The original email addresses are within the domain. however the i just switched to my email address which is not.

under the server i have the external ip of the server

port 25

email address from voicemail@wendtgoss.com
and the sma email address and the password i created for the user.

strangest thing is that the packets for smtp never generate when leaving a message thru wireshark.

they generate when i reboot or run the shutdown of the voicemail. but then i get those messages as well thru my email.

delete the username and password under SMTP.

I've had this happen before and works with authentication.

had a similar thing happening after an upgrade to R5, the monitor trace showed that the e-mails go into the LVM manager queue and stay there, but they never got send. Had to default teh box and just upload the config again done works since then.

you may be onto something there. I loaded R5 and then downgraded the cabinet to the 4.2.20 release, however I did not default the cabinet. Are you still at the R5 release without troubles?

Yes so far no more problems, I am not sure why it happened but I didn't want to reprogram all of it so I just defaulted the system and uploaded the same config back and so far, knowck on wood, no more problems

I returned last night to start on the updates and see what to do next and they stated it was working and had been working since the following day I left a week ago. Oddly enough I tested it and it seemed fine. thanks again.
