embedded tif in ill eps cropped in indesign

I had a embedded grayscale tif in illustrator and I needed to move a vectored object flush next to it. when I saved the document as an eps and placed it into indesign part of the tif was cut off by the object next to it. I ended up just making a tif out of the whole eps and then placing it into indesign but what the Heck!

We have had issues with eps formats with InDesign. (such as white backgrounds instead of transparencies) The solution is to save the file as an .ai file instead of eps. Try that and see if it works. I realize you made a tif of the whole thing, but personally I would be curious to see if it would work as an .ai file.
