I am right in thinking that the embedded RAD port on the 3300 can handle 50 simultaneous calls but would only play them all if they all hit the port at the same time? If not you receive ringing tone until the port is free again and the message is played?

Otherwise you need to configure RAD hunt grps with multiple ports in it to ensure the customer will hear the message?

Thanks

I'm not sure about 50 - although that does ring a bell - but you are correct. The rad will play to all the lines queued to it when it answers. New calls will queue up until the rad answers and plays again.

This does mean that if you only have one RAD, the time to answer could be <delay to answer time> + <length of RAD message>. That's why it may be important to add more RADs to the hunt group.

It used to be if you employed the phase delay when configuring a RAD in ACD it would queue calls ( up to 50 ) against the RAD and then once the phase timer expired, would play the message to all. Not sure if that still applies to the 3300 but would think it should.

The single biggest problem with communications is the illusion that it has taken place.

The quantity of simultaneous connections would be dependant on whether receivers are engaged and how many are available.

What's most important is that you realise ... There is no spoon.

It is true that up to 50 calls will queue up for the RAD, and it will play the message. UNLESS you have Path Interflow dialing configured in the call path. In that case, one RAD per caller.
